SAP HANA Gyan for Project Managers - soliciting feedback

I am drafting a very concise guide for Project Managers to understand & be able to talk about SAP HANA.

I am hoping for as much feedback as possible from the Project Managers as to what can be specifically useful for you, an article or blog previously read that may want to be simplified, a simple guide or document you seen that might help the community at large etc.

 

There is already this ASAP roadmap for HANA implementation* & an all encompassing portal** exclusively created for HANA stuff, so why a blog?

1. The reason for the blog is to be precise to the SAP Project Managers who want to understand key aspects of HANA.

 

 

2. The roadmap in the above link is confined to HANA implementation however the scenarios in real life might be very complex and include traditional implementation scenarios & new age concepts of Cloud products as in Ariba, Successfactors etc.

 

 

3. There may also be questions from customers on why HANA, what is SAP trying to do, why are there so many new things in the SAP world with Simple Finance, Cloud products, HANA etc......all of a sudden...

 

4. And it is possible that with the information overload you just do not know how to talk about SAP HANA.

 

I want to quote Hasso Platner here - "Being the president of the most successful data base company puts a burden on the comments you make with regards to data base systems in general and specifically talking about competitive products. Overstating the capabilities of your own products might be forgiven as being overly excited and optimistic about the potential benefits. But when it comes to competition you should either know exactly what you are talking about, or keep your mouth shut. Bad mouthing competitive products will always come back and haunt you. The more recognized as an expert you are, the more dangerous it becomes"


The burden to talk is no less for a Project Manager, you rather not keep your mouth shut anymore & you have lesser chances of being treated as an expert in the subject anyways.

So please come ahead and contribute your thoughts and questions so that I can include them in my blog shortly.
